Attention | National Day Shipping Alert: Major Shipping Lines Announce Blank Sailings!

“The National Day Golden Week is approaching,Foreign trade and logistics companies with shipment plans involving the above routes are advised to maintain timely communication with shipping lines and overseas clients, closely monitor route updates, and arrange booking and shipping matters as early as possible to avoid delays or additional costs due to schedule adjustments.”

     With the National Day Golden Week approaching, blank sailing plans from liner companies have been announced one after another. Capacity adjustments will be made across multiple routes around the holiday period in response to the anticipated slowdown in market demand. Recently, several leading shipping companies, including MSC, Maersk, and Hapag-Lloyd, have successively released notices about blank sailings affecting routes to Europe, the Trans-Pacific, Asia, and more. Relevant shippers and freight forwarders are advised to plan their logistics arrangements in advance.  

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC)  

     Recently, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company issued an announcement stating that due to an expected demand slowdown during the Golden Week holiday, MSC plans to adjust its Asia-Europe capacity from Week 39 to Week 41. Therefore, the following sailings will be canceled:

or the Asia-Mediterranean routes, the following sailings are canceled:    

 Asia-Mediterranean routes:  

     Jade Service GJ539W in Week 39, and Dragon Service FD541W in Week 41.  

Asia-Northern Europe routes:  

      Swan Service FW539W and Britannia Service QB540W in Week 39;

      Albatros Service GA540W and Britannia Service QB541W in Week 40.  

Maersk

Maersk has issued multiple notices regarding Golden Week capacity adjustments on various routes:  

     Far East Asia to Europe routes:To cope with the expected decrease in demand and tight operational resources during the holiday, Maersk will suspend certain sailings. For specific blank sailing information, please refer to the official announcement.

     Trans-Pacific routes:   Maersk will also adjust sailing schedules during the National Day Golden Week, with some sailings canceled. To ensure port coverage for customers, affected cargo will be reassigned to other available sailings. Detailed adjustment information will be announced separately. Please check the detailed blank sailing information below.

     Asia routes:  Maersk has announced adjustments for the Golden Week. A04 Service 541S/542N in Week 41 will be canceled.

Hapag-Lloyd  

     Hapag-Lloyd has announced that due to the Chinese Golden Week holiday, the company will adjust its Asia-Europe and Trans-Pacific route networks. The aim is to provide customers with stable alternative solutions during the holiday period and minimize potential disruptions to the supply chain. Specific adjustments include:
